AI we there yet?

Why?

The AI conversation has two volumes: people certain we're all going to die, and people certain we're about to be saved. Both exhausting.

Most of us live in the unglamorous middle — using this stuff daily, half amazed, half uneasy, a little tired of being yelled at.

This is for them. We take the question seriously enough to measure it, and refuse to be solemn about it. The world already had a Doomsday Clock. It didn't need a second one. It needed a car.

We won't tell you how to feel about the destination. Just how fast we're driving.
